Internet Statement #5/98 Concerning misreport in a book by the Bouvier publishing house Misreports about leftist and revolutionary organizations are nothing new. An especially flagrant renewed case is the book "Linksextremismus - eine unterschaetzte Gefahr" ("Left Extremism - an Underestimated Danger") by Patrick Moreau and Joerg Lang, published by Bouvier publishing house, Bonn, 1996. The authors apparently are close to the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and already by the structuring of the title show what kind of persons they are. They deliver descriptions in this book about several parties and organizations which they label "left extremists". The book contains also a passage about the KDP/ML (NEUE EINHEIT) - under this name our organization appeared in public until 1994 - : "This small group originated in 1970 from a split from the 'KPD/ML’. It appears virtually only by leaflets. The leading thinker is Klaus Sender (pen name for Hartmut Dicke). The number of members is below 10. The group has the publishing house Neue Einheit (Dortmund/Berlin) and publishes the magazine Neue Einheit. Note*. In the preliminary remark it is mentioned that the group fought against a split in 1993 and that four members had been excluded from the party by a decision of the Central Committee. The ‘KDP/ML -Neue Einheit’ continues to orientate itself by the theories of Mao Tse-tung but propagates a ‘new practice’ corresponding better to the new political conditions. Note**" In the notes we read "meeting of Patrick Moreau with a representative of Neue Einheit on May 1st, 1995, in Berlin" and further: "from a conversation of Patrick Moreau with a person responsible in Berlin on May 1st, 1995." In the first place it has to be said that Patrick Moreau never spoke to a legitimized responsible person of the group NEUE EINHEIT on May 1st, 1995. Patrick Moreau had been unknown to our organization until the discovery of this book some time ago. It is not admissible to go to a bookstall and, for a book which claims to provide reliable information, to obtain utterances from one or probably several persons the position of which with regard to the organization is not at all clear, and to mix them up. Our organization has an official address, numerous corresponding written documents are available. The way in which alleged informations are allegedly obtained here is more than dubious. Several informations are wrong. The information about the number of members, about which members of our organization anyway do not give information, is not "below ten", as stated by these people. Our organization has not been appearing only by leaflets. Its fundament always has been - over twenty years - the unity of political theoretical work, propaganda and work in the factories, and the work in its own and in foreign events usually carried through on concrete occasions. This group, for example, stands against the political trend of ecologism reigning from "far left" too "far right" and criticizes the whole basic substance of the Greens, only by this already differing from all other organizations. This "peculiarity" cannot have escaped even these conservative writers’ notice. Also other hot subjects as for example the position towards terrorism (state connection) are not mentioned at all, whereas they find it worth to quote a decision from the above-mentioned issue that in 1993 four members were expelled, mentioning the CC’s resolution together with its date but omitting all other circumstances, especially the subsequent almost unanimous resolution of the organization’s conference. A split, however, must be denied as the four people in question did not at all form a new political group, not, by the way, being able to do that because of their purely negative disposition. If the remaining informations are of equal quality one can well drop this book, or at best use it for understanding its writers’ intentions. Editorial staff of NEUE EINHEIT June 1998
